एते च निहता भूमौ रामेण निशितैः शरैः ।
ये च मे पदवीम् प्राप्ता राक्षसाः पिशित अशनाः ॥ ॥३-२१-१३॥
ete ca nihatā bhūmau rāmeṇa niśitaiḥ śaraiḥ |
ye ca me padavīm prāptā rākṣasāḥ piśita aśanāḥ ॥3-21-13॥
Translation
And these flesh-eating Rakshasas, who followed my path (to help me), lie killed on the ground by Rama with his sharp arrows.

और ये मांसाहारी राक्षस, जो मेरे मार्ग का अनुसरण करते हुए (मेरी सहायता के लिए) गए थे, राम के तीखे बाणों द्वारा मारे जाकर भूमि पर पड़े हैं।
English Commentary
Shurpanakha pivots from her emotional state to the factual reality of the battlefield. She explicitly mentions that the piśita aśanāḥ (flesh-eating demons)—warriors known for their ferocity—have been slaughtered. By attributing their death to Rama's niśitaiḥ śaraiḥ (sharp arrows), she emphasizes the effectiveness of the enemy's weaponry. Reminding Khara that these soldiers followed her path (padavīm prāptā) under his orders makes their loss personal to him. She is essentially saying, "Your soldiers are dead because they tried to help me; their defeat is your defeat."

शूर्पणखा अब अपनी व्यक्तिगत पीड़ा से हटकर खर की सैन्य क्षति की ओर ध्यान आकर्षित करती है। वह याद दिलाती है कि जो 'पिशित अशनाः' (मांसाहारी/क्रूर) राक्षस उसके साथ गए थे, उनका अंत हो चुका है। 'निशितैः शरैः' (तीखे बाणों से) यह स्पष्ट करता है कि शत्रु साधारण नहीं है। 'मे पदवीम् प्राप्ता' (मेरे पीछे/पदचिन्हों पर गए) का उल्लेख करके वह यह जताना चाहती है कि वे तुम्हारी आज्ञा से मेरे काम के लिए गए थे, अत: उनकी मृत्यु का प्रतिशोध लेना तुम्हारा कर्तव्य है। यह खर को उकसाने का प्रयास है कि उसके वीर सैनिकों का रक्त व्यर्थ नहीं जाना चाहिए।
