ते तु रामेण सामर्षाः शूल पट्टिस पाणयः ।
समरे निहताः सर्वे सायकैः मर्म भेदिभिः ॥ ॥३-२१-९॥
te tu rāmeṇa sāmarṣāḥ śūla paṭṭisa pāṇayaḥ |
samare nihatāḥ sarve sāyakaiḥ marma bhedibhiḥ ॥3-21-9॥
Translation
But all those angry Rakshasas, weapons like spears and Pattisas in hand, were killed in battle by Rama with arrows that pierced their vital organs.
हिंदी अनुवाद
वे सभी क्रोधी राक्षस, जिनके हाथों में शूल और पट्टिश (अस्त्र) थे, युद्ध में राम द्वारा मर्म-भेदी (हृदय/मर्म को भेदने वाले) बाणों से मार दिए गए।
English Commentary
The revelation is blunt and total. Despite being armed (śūla paṭṭisa pāṇayaḥ) and fueled by rage (sāmarṣāḥ), the demons were annihilated. The focus is on rāmeṇa (by Rama alone) and sarve (all of them). There were no survivors. The description of the arrows as marma bhedibhiḥ (piercing the vitals/marrow) confirms the lethal efficiency of Rama's archery. It dispels any hope Khara might have had about them being merely wounded or retreated.

यह वह श्लोक है जहाँ सत्य का उद्घाटन होता है। 'ते तु' (वे तो) से बात पलट जाती है। शूर्पणखा बताती है कि वे हथियार ('शूल पट्टिस') उठाए हुए ही थे, 'सामर्षाः' (क्रोध में भरे) थे, फिर भी 'सर्वे निहताः' (सब के सब मारे गए)। महत्वपूर्ण यह है कि 'रामेण' (अकेले राम द्वारा) यह कार्य किया गया। 'मर्म भेदिभिः' विशेषण बाणों की सटीकता को बताता है—राम ने केवल घायल नहीं किया, बल्कि सीधे मर्मस्थानों (vital parts) पर प्रहार कर प्राण हर लिए।
