अग्रे निर्यातुम् इच्छामि पौलस्त्यानाम् महात्मनाम् ।
वधार्थम् दुर्विनीतस्य रामस्य रण कोविद ॥३-२२-११॥
agre niryātum icchāmi paulastyānām mahātmanām |
vadhārtham durvinītasya rāmasya raṇa kovida ॥3-22-11॥
Translation
"O one skilled in war (Dushana)! I wish to march at the forefront of the mighty descendants of Pulastya (the demons), in order to slay the ill-mannered Rama."

"हे रणकुशल (दूषण)! मैं उस दुर्विनीत (दुष्ट/अशिष्ट) राम के वध के लिए, पुलस्त्य वंश के महाकाय राक्षसों के आगे (अग्रभाग में) चलना चाहता हूँ।"
English Commentary
Khara invokes his lineage by referring to his army as 'Paulastyanam' (descendants of Sage Pulastya), reminding his troops of their high, albeit fallen, pedigree (shared with Ravana). He labels Rama as 'Durvinita' (ill-mannered/wicked), a classic projection of the villain who views just resistance as insolence. By calling Rama "ill-mannered" for defending sages, Khara reveals his twisted moral code. His desire to march 'Agre' (at the front) demonstrates his martial ethos; he is a leader who leads from the front lines rather than commanding from the safety of the rear, signaling his supreme confidence in personally dealing the death blow.

खर यहाँ स्वयं को 'पौलस्त्य' (पुलस्त्य ऋषि के वंशज) कहकर अपने उच्च कुल का अभिमान प्रकट करता है। रावण और कुम्भकर्ण की तरह खर भी उसी महान ऋषि कुल से संबंधित है, यद्यपि राक्षसी वृत्ति के कारण वे पतित हैं। वह राम को 'दुर्विनीत' (जिसमें विनय नहीं है) कहता है। यह विडंबना है कि जो धर्म की रक्षा कर रहा है उसे 'अशिष्ट' कहा जा रहा है, केवल इसलिए क्योंकि उसने राक्षसों के अत्याचार का विरोध किया। 'अग्रे निर्यातुम्' (आगे चलने की इच्छा) खर के नेतृत्व गुण को दर्शाती है; वह अपनी सेना के पीछे छिपने वाला राजा नहीं, बल्कि मोर्चे पर लड़ने वाला योद्धा है।
