इति तस्य ब्रुवाणस्य सूर्य वर्णम् महारथम् ।
सत् अश्वैः शबलैः युक्तम् आचचक्षे अथ दूषणः ॥३-२२-१२॥
iti tasya bruvāṇasya sūrya varṇam mahāratham |
sat aśvaiḥ śabalaiḥ yuktam ācacakṣe atha dūṣaṇaḥ ॥3-22-12॥
Translation
While he (Khara) was speaking thus, Dushana announced (the readiness of) a great chariot, the color of the sun, yoked with excellent dappled horses.
हिंदी अनुवाद
उसके (खर के) ऐसा कहने पर, दूषण ने उत्तम चितकबरे घोड़ों से युक्त, सूर्य के समान रंग वाले उस विशाल रथ को (तैयार कर) सूचित किया।
English Commentary
This verse highlights the efficiency of Dushana as a commander. The moment Khara speaks, the war chariot is reported ready. The chariot is described as 'Surya varnam' (solar-hued), symbolizing brilliance, heat, and royal power. It is drawn by 'Shabalaih' (dappled/spotted) horses, a distinct breed signifying exclusivity and speed. This is not a mere transport but a psychological weapon intended to awe the enemy. The prompt execution of orders suggests a highly disciplined military structure within Janasthana, where the machinery of war is always oiled and ready to mobilize at the king's behest.

सेनापति दूषण की कार्यक्षमता यहाँ दिखाई देती है। राजा के आदेश देते ही रथ तैयार हो गया। रथ का वर्णन 'सूर्य वर्णम्' (सूर्य के समान तेजस्वी) है, जो खर के राजसी ठाठ और शक्ति का प्रतीक है। 'शबलैः अश्वैः' (चितकबरे घोड़े) विशिष्टता का सूचक हैं; प्राचीन काल में विशिष्ट रंगों के घोड़े रथी की पहचान होते थे। यह रथ सामान्य वाहन नहीं, बल्कि एक युद्धक मशीन है जो शत्रु के मन में भय उत्पन्न करने के लिए पर्याप्त भव्य और विशाल है। दूषण का तुरंत रथ प्रस्तुत करना यह भी दिखाता है कि राक्षसी सेना सदैव युद्ध के लिए तत्पर (Battle-ready) रहती थी।
