खरः तु तान् महत् सैन्याम् रथ चर्म आयुध ध्वजान् ।
निर्यात इति अब्रवीत् प्रेक्ष्य दूषणः सर्व राक्षसान् ॥३-२२-१६॥
kharaḥ tu tān mahat sainyām ratha carma āyudha dhvajān |
niryāta iti abravīt prekṣya dūṣaṇaḥ sarva rākṣasān ॥3-22-16॥
Translation
Seeing Khara (ready) and observing that great army equipped with chariots, shields, weapons, and flags, Dushana said to all the Rakshasas, "March forth!"

खर को (तैयार) देखकर, दूषण ने उस विशाल सेना को, जो रथ, ढाल, हथियार और ध्वजाओं से युक्त थी, और सभी राक्षसों को देखकर कहा—"कूच करो (प्रस्थान करो)!"
English Commentary
Contextually, this verse signifies the final command to mobilize. Once Khara is mounted, his general, Dushana, takes charge of the logistics. He surveys ('Prekshya') the massive army, ensuring they are equipped with 'Charma' (shields), weapons, and flags. Seeing the king ready and the troops prepared, Dushana gives the order: "Niryata" (March forth/Exit). This illustrates the chain of command; the King's intent is executed by the General. The mention of the fully equipped army emphasizes that this is a full-scale military invasion of Rama's hermitage, not a minor skirmish.

इस श्लोक के अन्वय (शब्द-क्रम) में थोड़ा पेंच है, लेकिन संदर्भ स्पष्ट है। खर के रथारूढ़ होते ही, सेनापति दूषण ने सारी सेना का निरीक्षण किया ('प्रेक्ष्य')। सेना पूरी तरह सुसज्जित थी—'चर्म' (ढाल) और 'आयुध' (हथियार) के साथ। तब दूषण ने 'निर्यात' (निकलो/कूच करो) का अंतिम आदेश दिया। राजा (खर) की तैयारी और उपस्थिति ही सेना के लिए संकेत थी, जिसे सेनापति (दूषण) ने शब्दों में परिवर्तित किया। यहाँ सैन्य अनुशासन और पदानुक्रम (Hierarchy) का पालन दिखता है। 14,000 की सेना का एक साथ कूच करना वन क्षेत्र में प्रलय जैसा दृश्य उत्पन्न कर रहा होगा।
