तव अपमान प्रभवः क्रोधो अयम् अतुलो मम ।
न शक्यते धारयितुम् लवण अंभ इव उल्बणम् ॥ ॥३-२२-२॥
tava apamāna prabhavaḥ krodho ayam atulo mama |
na śakyate dhārayitum lavaṇa aṃbha iva ulbaṇam ॥3-22-2॥
Translation
"This incomparable anger of mine, born of your insult, cannot be contained, just as the overflowing salt water (of the ocean) cannot be held back."

"तुम्हारे अपमान से उत्पन्न हुआ मेरा यह अतुलनीय क्रोध, खारे पानी (समुद्र) के उफान की भाँति, मेरे द्वारा धारण (रोकना) करना संभव नहीं है।"
English Commentary
Khara uses the metaphor of the ocean to describe the intensity of his rage. Just as the surging 'Lavana ambha' (salt water) of the ocean during a tide cannot be contained, his anger, triggered by the mutilation of his sister, has surpassed his control. The comparison to salt water is fitting, reflecting a raw, overwhelming, and abrasive force—much like his own name, 'Khara' (harsh). This verse illustrates the demonic ethos where vengeance is an uncontrollable impulse rather than a calculated strategy. Khara acknowledges that he is no longer the master of his emotions, foreshadowing the reckless aggression that will lead to his downfall against Rama.

खर यहाँ अपनी क्रोधाग्नि की तीव्रता का वर्णन करने के लिए समुद्र का उदाहरण देता है। जैसे समुद्र में ज्वार आने पर खारे पानी को रोकना असंभव है, वैसे ही अपनी बहन के अंग-भंग को देखकर उसका क्रोध सीमाओं को लांघ रहा है। 'लवण अंभ' (खारा पानी) का उपमा के रूप में प्रयोग संभवतः उसके स्वयं के नाम 'खर' (जिसका एक अर्थ कठोर या तीक्ष्ण भी होता है) के स्वभाव के अनुकूल है। यह श्लोक दर्शाता है कि राक्षस संस्कृति में प्रतिशोध एक स्वाभाविक और अनियंत्रित आवेग है। खर यहाँ यह स्वीकार कर रहा है कि उसका विवेक अब उसके क्रोध के अधीन है, जो आने वाले विनाश का संकेत है।
