चीची कूचि इति वाश्यन्तो बभूवुः तत्र सारिकाः ।
उल्काः च अपि स निर्घोषा निपेतुः घोर दर्शनाः ॥३-२३-१५॥
cīcī kūci iti vāśyanto babhūvuḥ tatra sārikāḥ |
ulkāḥ ca api sa nirghoṣā nipetuḥ ghora darśanāḥ ॥3-23-15॥
Translation
The Mynah birds there began making chirping sounds like "Chicchi kuchi". Terrifying meteors fell from the sky accompanied by loud crashing noises.
हिंदी अनुवाद
वहां मैना (सारिका) पक्षी 'चीची कूची' ऐसी (अस्पष्ट और कर्कश) आवाजें निकालने लगीं। भयानक दिखने वाली उल्काएं (टूटते तारे) भारी गर्जना के साथ गिरने लगीं।
English Commentary
The auditory disturbance continues with the frantic, nonsensical chattering ('cīcī kūci') of the Mynah birds, usually associated with pleasant speech. This distortion of pleasantness into panic sets the mood. More gravely, meteors ('ulkāḥ') are described crashing down with thunderous noise ('sa nirghoṣā'). In epic lore, falling meteors are standard foreshadowing for the fall of great warriors or kings. These are not silent shooting stars but terrifying, noisy projectiles, mirroring the devastating astras (missiles) that will soon be exchanged in battle. The cosmos is literally bombarding Khara with warnings.

सारिका (मैना) साधारणतः मधुर बोलने वाली पक्षी है, किन्तु यहाँ उसकी बोली 'चीची कूची' जैसी घबराहट भरी और अर्थहीन बताई गई है। यह वाणी के विकार को दर्शाता है। इसके साथ ही, आकाश से 'उल्काः' (Meteors) का गिरना राजाओं के पतन का शास्त्रीय संकेत है। ये उल्काएं 'स निर्घोषा' (भारी आवाज के साथ) गिर रही हैं और 'घोर दर्शनाः' (दिखने में भयानक) हैं। यह खगोलीय वज्रपात राम के बाणों के प्रहार का पूर्वगामी (precursor) है। आकाश और पृथ्वी दोनों ओर से खर को चेतावनी मिल रही है कि उसका अंत निकट है।
