Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
ऋषयो देव गन्धर्वाः सिद्धाः च सह चारणैः ।
समेत्य च ऊचुः सहिताः ते अन्यायम् पुण्यकर्मणः ॥३-२३-२७॥
ṛṣayo deva gandharvāḥ siddhāḥ ca saha cāraṇaiḥ |
sametya ca ūcuḥ sahitāḥ te anyāyam puṇyakarmaṇaḥ ॥3-23-27॥
Translation
The Rishis, Devas, Gandharvas, Siddhas, and Charanas—all those of meritorious deeds—gathered together and spoke to one another.

ऋषि, देवता, गंधर्व, सिद्ध और चारण—ये सभी पुण्यकर्मा (पवित्र आत्माएं) एक साथ मिलकर (आपस में) बातें करने लगे।
English Commentary
The gallery of observers includes various classes of celestial beings: Sages (Rishis), Gods (Devas), celestial musicians (Gandharvas), perfected beings (Siddhas), and bards (Charanas). They are described as 'puṇyakarmaṇaḥ' (those of virtuous deeds), contrasting sharply with the sinful Rakshasa army. Their gathering signifies that the outcome of this battle affects the spiritual balance of the worlds. They converse among themselves, setting the stage for the benediction in the next verse.
