सा भीम वेगा समर अभिकांक्षिणी सुदारुणा राक्षस वीर सेना ।
तौ राज पुत्रौ सहसा अभ्युपेता माला ग्रहाणाम् इव चन्द्र सूर्यौ ॥३-२३-३४॥
sā bhīma vegā samara abhikāṃkṣiṇī sudāruṇā rākṣasa vīra senā |
tau rāja putrau sahasā abhyupetā mālā grahāṇām iva candra sūryau ॥3-23-34॥
Translation
That army of Rakshasa heroes, wishing for war, possessing terrible speed and ferocity, suddenly approached those two princes just as a chain of planets approaches the Moon and the Sun.
हिंदी अनुवाद
युद्ध की इच्छा रखने वाली, भयानक वेग वाली वह अत्यंत क्रूर राक्षस वीरों की सेना उन दोनों राजकुमारों (राम और लक्ष्मण) के पास सहसा वैसे ही आ पहुंची, जैसे ग्रहों की माला (पंक्ति) चंद्र और सूर्य के पास पहुँचती है।
English Commentary
The concluding imagery of this section is powerful. The two brothers are likened to the Sun and Moon—luminaries of the sky. The oncoming army is compared to a 'mālā grahāṇām' (a garland or chain of planets). In Indian astronomy, specific planetary alignments aiming at the luminaries signify eclipses or cosmic disturbances. The metaphor positions the Rakshasas as dark, eclipsing forces trying to swallow the light of Dharma. It sets the stakes: this is not just a battle of bodies, but a clash of light against encroaching darkness.

यह सर्ग का अंतिम श्लोक एक अद्भुत उपमा देता है। राम और लक्ष्मण की तुलना 'चन्द्र और सूर्य' से की गई है, जो तेज और धर्म के प्रतीक हैं। राक्षस सेना की तुलना 'माला ग्रहाणाम्' (ग्रहों की पंक्ति/श्रृंखला) से की गई है। ज्योतिष में जब क्रूर ग्रह (जैसे राहु, केतु, शनि, मंगल) सूर्य और चंद्र को घेर लेते हैं, तो ग्रहण या महाविपत्ति आती है। यह उपमा बताती है कि अंधकार ने प्रकाश को घेर लिया है। 'भीम वेगा' (भयानक गति) राक्षसों के आक्रमण की तीव्रता को दर्शाती है। यह दृश्य महाविनाश से ठीक पहले के तनाव को चित्रित करता है।
