ससर्ज निशितान् बाणान् शतशः अथ सहस्रशः ।
दुरवारान् दुर्विषहान् कालपाश उपमान् रणे ॥ ॥३-२५-१७॥
Sasarja niśitān bāṇān śataśaḥ atha sahasraśaḥ |
Duravārān durviṣahān kālapāśa upamān raṇe ॥3-25-17॥
Translation
He released sharp arrows by the hundreds and thousands in that battle—arrows that were inevitable, unbearable, and comparable to the noose of Death (Time).

उन्होंने रणभूमि में कालपाश (मृत्यु के फंदे) के समान, निवारण न किए जा सकने वाले (दुरवारान्) और असहनीय (दुर्विषहान्) तीखे बाणों को सैकड़ों और हज़ारों की संख्या में छोड़ना आरम्भ किया।
English Commentary
The retaliation is massive. Rama matches the thousands of enemies with thousands of arrows (shatashah atha sahasrashah). The arrows are described with terrifying attributes: duravaran (unstoppable/hard to ward off) and durvishahan (unbearable). The ultimate comparison is to Kalapasha—the noose of Time or Death. This implies that once an arrow is released by Rama, the target's time is up; escape is impossible. It signifies precision meeting volume.

राम के धनुष से बाणों की गति और संख्या का वर्णन यहाँ है। 'शतशः अथ सहस्रशः' (सैकड़ों और हजारों) बाण एक साथ निकल रहे थे। इन बाणों के लिए तीन विशेषण हैं: 1. 'दुरवारान्' (जिन्हें रोका न जा सके), 2. 'दुर्विषहान्' (जिनका प्रहार सहा न जा सके), और 3. 'कालपाश उपमान्' (यमराज के फंदे के समान)। जैसे काल का फंदा पड़ने पर जीव की मृत्यु निश्चित है, वैसे ही राम के बाण अचूक हैं। यह एक अकेले योद्धा द्वारा पूरी सेना के बराबर मारक क्षमता प्रदर्शित करने का वर्णन है।
