हयान् कांचन सन्नाहान् रथ युक्तान् स सारथीन् ।
गजाम् च स गज आरोहान् स हयान् सारधिनः तदा ॥ ॥३-२५-२३॥
Hayān kāṃcana sannāhān ratha yuktān sa sārathīn |
Gajām ca sa gaja ārohān sa hayān sāradhinaḥ tadā ॥3-25-23॥
Translation
He destroyed horses clad in gold armor, chariots along with their charioteers, elephants with their riders, and horses with their mounted warriors.

(राम ने) सोने के कवच पहने हुए घोड़ों को, सारथियों सहित रथों को, महावतों सहित हाथियों को और घुड़सवारों सहित अन्य घोड़ों को मार गिराया।
English Commentary
This verse lists the casualties across different divisions of the army. The specific detail of kanchana sannaham (golden armor/trappings) on the horses highlights the wealth and preparedness of the Rakshasa army. However, armor provides no protection against Rama. The phrasing emphasizes that nothing was spared: the mounts (horses, elephants), the vehicles (chariots), and the operators (charioteers, riders) were all dispatched simultaneously. It portrays a scene of absolute chaos and carnage.

चतुरंगिणी सेना का पूर्ण विनाश यहाँ वर्णित है। 'कांचन सन्नाहान्' (सोने के कवच) पहने घोड़े यह बताते हैं कि रावण की सेना कितनी संपन्न और सुसज्जित थी। राम ने भेदभाव नहीं किया—पशु (घोड़े, हाथी), यंत्र (रथ), और संचालक (सारथी, सवार) सभी उनके बाणों का शिकार हुए। यह 'समूल विनाश' (Total destruction) है। 'स सारथीन्' और 'स गज आरोहान्' दर्शाता है कि वाहन और वाहक दोनों एक साथ नष्ट कर दिए गए।
