Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
ते छिन्न शिरसः पेतुः छिन्न चर्म शरासनाः ।
सुपर्ण वात विक्षिप्ता जगत्याम् पादपा यथा ॥ ॥३-२५-२८॥
Te chinna śirasaḥ petuḥ chinna carma śarāsanāḥ |
Suparṇa vāta vikṣiptā jagatyām pādapā yathā ॥3-25-28॥
Translation
With their heads, shields, and bows severed, they fell upon the earth like trees thrown down by the wind of Suparna (Garuda).
हिंदी अनुवाद
जिनके सिर, ढाल और धनुष कट चुके थे, वे राक्षस धरती पर ऐसे गिरे जैसे गरुड़ (सुपर्ण) के पंखों की हवा से उखाड़े गए वृक्ष गिरते हैं।
English Commentary
The imagery returns to nature to describe the fall of the mighty demons. They are compared to trees (padapa). The force knocking them down is likened to Suparna vata—the wind generated by the wings of Garuda (the Golden Eagle, vehicle of Vishnu). This is significant because Garuda is the natural enemy of serpents and dark creatures. It implies a divine force sweeping away the evil. The demons fall minus their heads and equipment, stripped of dignity and life.

यहाँ पुनः एक भव्य उपमा है। मरने वाले राक्षसों की तुलना 'पादपा' (वृक्षों) से और राम के बाणों के वेग की तुलना 'सुपर्ण वात' (गरुड़ के उड़ने से उत्पन्न आंधी) से की गई है। गरुड़ साक्षात् विष्णु का वाहन है और सर्पों/राक्षसों का शत्रु है। जैसे गरुड़ के वेग से पेड़ उखड़ जाते हैं, वैसे ही राम के प्रहार से विशालकाय राक्षस धराशायी हो गए। 'छिन्न शिरसः' (कटे हुए सिर) उनकी मृत्यु की पुष्टि करता है।
