ततः शर सहस्राणि निर्ययुः चाप मण्डलात् ।
सर्वा दश दिशो बानैः आपूर्यन्त समागतैः ॥ ॥३-२५-३८॥
Tataḥ śara sahasrāṇi niryayuḥ cāpa maṇḍalāt । Sarvā daśa diśo bānaiḥ āpūryanta samāgataiḥ ॥ ॥3-25-38॥
Translation
Then, thousands of arrows shot forth from the circle of his bow. All ten directions were filled by the arrows arriving therein.

तभी उनके धनुष के घेरे (मण्डल) से हजारों बाण निकलने लगे। उन बाणों से दसों दिशाएं पूरी तरह भर गईं।
English Commentary
This verse illustrates the overwhelming output of the Gandharva Astra. The phrase 'cāpa maṇḍalāt' (from the circle of the bow) is visually evocative; it implies that Rama was drawing his bow with such speed that the bow appeared as a continuous circle rather than an arc. From this kinetic halo, 'thousands of arrows' streamed forth. The coverage is absolute—'all ten directions' (the 4 cardinal, 4 intermediate, plus zenith and nadir) are saturated with missiles. This depicts a veritable wall of arrows emanating from a single point, expanding outward to engulf the entire battlefield. It emphasizes that for the demons, there was nowhere to hide; the very atmosphere had turned into weaponry.

गान्धर्व अस्त्र के प्रभाव का वर्णन यहाँ प्रारंभ होता है। 'चाप मण्डलात्' एक अत्यंत सुंदर प्रयोग है। इसका अर्थ है कि राम इतनी तीव्र गति से धनुष को खींच रहे थे कि वह अर्धचन्द्राकार न रहकर एक पूर्ण गोलाकार 'मण्डल' जैसा दिखने लगा था। उस मण्डल से 'शर सहस्राणि' (हजारों बाण) निकल रहे थे। यह अतिशयोक्ति नहीं, बल्कि गान्धर्व अस्त्र की शक्ति है। 'दश दिशो' (दसों दिशाएं—आठ क्षैतिज और ऊपर-नीचे) बाणों से भर गईं। कवि यह कहना चाहते हैं कि हवा में ऐसा कोई स्थान नहीं बचा था जहाँ राम का बाण न हो। यह दृश्य राम की 'हस्त-लाघव' (हाथ की सफाई/फुर्ती) और अस्त्र की दिव्यता का अद्भुत संगम है।
