युगपत् पतमानैः च युगपच्च हतैः भ्रिशम् ।
युगपत् पतितैः चैव विकीर्णा वसुधा अभवत् ॥ ॥३-२५-४१॥
Yugapat patamānaiḥ ca yugapacca hataiḥ bhriśam । Yugapat patitaiḥ caiva vikīrṇā vasudhā abhavat ॥ ॥3-25-41॥
Translation
The earth became scattered with demons falling simultaneously, being killed simultaneously, and having fallen simultaneously.

एक साथ गिरते हुए, एक साथ अत्यधिक मारे जाते हुए, और एक साथ मरे पड़े हुए राक्षसों से पृथ्वी पट गई (ढक गई)।
English Commentary
The repetition of 'yugapat' (simultaneously) serves as the rhythmic heartbeat of this verse, emphasizing the synchronization of destruction caused by the Gandharva Astra. It describes three states occurring at once: 'patamānaiḥ' (those in the process of falling), 'hataiḥ' (those being struck/killed), and 'patitaiḥ' (those already fallen). In a normal battle, these would be sequential; here, the speed of Rama's arrows compresses time, making the slaughter instantaneous across the entire army. The earth ('vasudhā') is described as 'vikīrṇā' (scattered/covered) with bodies. This confirms the total efficacy of Rama's counter-attack: the swarm that surrounded him moments ago has been instantaneously leveled in a single wave of divine power.

इस श्लोक में 'युगपत्' (एक साथ/simultaneously) शब्द का तीन बार प्रयोग हुआ है, जो गान्धर्व अस्त्र की महिमा को सिद्ध करता है। सामान्य युद्ध में सैनिक एक-एक करके गिरते हैं, लेकिन यहाँ हजारों राक्षस एक ही क्षण में मारे गए। 'पतमानैः': जो अभी गिर रहे हैं (हवा में)। 'हतैः': जो बाण लगते ही मर गए। 'पतितैः': जो जमीन पर गिर चुके हैं। इन तीनों अवस्थाओं का एक ही समय पर घटित होना यह बताता है कि राम के बाणों की गति और व्याप्ति (coverage) इतनी थी कि पूरी सेना का विनाश एक झटके में हो गया। 'विकीर्णा वसुधा' का अर्थ है कि धरती अब दिख नहीं रही, वह लाशों से पट चुकी है। यह सामूहिक विनाश (mass destruction) का विभत्स किन्तु अद्भुत चित्रण है।
