ते वलाहक संकाशा महाकाया महाबलाः ।
अभ्यधावन्त काकुत्स्थम् रथैः वाजिभिः एव च ॥ ॥३-२५-९॥
Te valāhaka saṃkāśā mahākāyā mahābalāḥ |
Abhyadhāvanta kākutstham rathaiḥ vājibhiḥ eva ca ॥3-25-9॥
Translation
Resembling dark clouds, those colossal and mighty Rakshasas rushed towards the descendant of Kakutstha (Rama) on chariots and horses.

बादलों के समान काले, विशाल शरीर और महाबल वाले वे राक्षस रथों और घोड़ों पर सवार होकर काकुत्स्थ (श्री राम) की ओर दौड़े।
English Commentary
The simile valahaka sankasha (resembling clouds) implies both the dark complexion of the Rakshasas and their overwhelming numbers, moving like a storm front. The contrast is striking: the demons possess massive bodies (mahakaya), great strength, and the tactical advantage of cavalry and chariots, while Rama fights from the ground. Calling Rama Kakutstha evokes his lineage of legendary warriors, suggesting that despite the lack of a chariot, his pedigree and valor are sufficient to face this mechanized onslaught.
