अहो विक्रम शूरस्य राक्षसस्य ईदृशम् बलम् ।
पुष्पैः इव शरैः यस्य ललाटे अस्मि परिक्षतः ॥ ॥३-२७-१२॥
Aho vikrama śūrasya rākṣasasya īdṛśam balam |
Puṣpaiḥ iva śaraiḥ yasya lalāṭe asmi parikṣataḥ ॥3-27-12॥
Translation
"Oh! Is such the strength and valor of this brave demon? By whose arrows I have been touched on the forehead as if by flowers."

"अहो! इस शूरवीर राक्षस का पराक्रम और बल बस इतना ही है? जिसके बाणों से मेरे माथे पर फूलों की तरह केवल स्पर्श हुआ है (घाव नहीं)।"
English Commentary
Rama responds with scathing warrior sarcasm. By comparing the demon's arrows to flowers (puṣpaiḥ iva), he dismisses the physical threat and mocks Trishira's strength. This is a classic trope in heroic poetry where the protagonist belittles the antagonist's best shot to assert dominance. It serves to demoralize the enemy and highlights Rama's invulnerability and supreme confidence amidst the heat of battle.

यह 'वीर रस' का उत्कृष्ट उदाहरण है, जहाँ नायक शत्रु के प्रहार को तुच्छ बताता है। श्रीराम व्यंग्य करते हैं कि बाण 'पुष्पैः इव' (फूलों के समान) लगे। यह शत्रु के मनोबल को तोड़ने की एक मनोवैज्ञानिक रणनीति है। यद्यपि बाण तीखे थे (जैसा पिछले श्लोकों में कहा गया), किन्तु राम अपनी सहनशक्ति और अवमानना प्रदर्शित करने के लिए उन्हें फूल बताते हैं। यह दर्शाता है कि त्रिशिरा का आक्रमण राम को विचलित करने में असमर्थ है।
