न्यपतत् पतितैः पूर्वम् समरस्थो निशाचरः ।
हत शेषाः ततो भग्ना राक्षसाः खर संश्रयाः ॥ ॥३-२७-१९॥
Nyapatat patitaiḥ pūrvam samarastho niśācaraḥ |
Hata śeṣāḥ tato bhagnā rākṣasāḥ khara saṃśrayāḥ ॥3-27-19॥
Translation
That night-wanderer fell in the battleground alongside those who had fallen before. Then, the remaining broken demons fled to seek refuge with Khara.
हिंदी अनुवाद
वह निशाचर (त्रिशिरा) युद्धभूमि में पहले से गिरे हुए अपने साथियों के पास ही गिर पड़ा। उसके मारे जाने के बाद, बचे-खुचे हताश राक्षस खर की शरण में भाग गए।
English Commentary
The imagery of Trishira falling among the heaps of previously slain soldiers illustrates the leveling nature of death—general and foot soldier lie together. The panic of the survivors is palpable; with their leadership decimated (Dushana and Trishira both dead), the remaining troops lose their will to fight. Their flight to Khara (khara saṃśrayāḥ) isolates the antagonist, stripping him of his army and forcing him to face Rama alone.

सेनापति का गिरना सेना के मनोबल के टूटने का अंतिम कारण बनता है। त्रिशिरा का शव 'पतितैः पूर्वम्' (पहले से गिरे हुओं के साथ) मिल जाता है, जो यह दर्शाता है कि मृत्यु में सेनापति और सैनिक समान हो जाते हैं; युद्ध का अंत सबको एक ही धूल में मिला देता है। 'खर संश्रयाः' (खर के आश्रय में) भागते हुए राक्षस यह बताते हैं कि अब उनकी अंतिम आशा केवल उनका राजा, खर, ही है। यह खर और राम के बीच अंतिम युद्ध की पृष्ठभूमि तैयार करता है।
