स दृष्ट्वा राक्षसम् सैन्यम् अविषह्यम् महाबलम् ।
हतम् एकेन रामेण दूषणः त्रिशिरा अपि ॥ ॥३-२८-२॥
Sa dṛṣṭvā rākṣasam sainyam aviṣahyam mahābalam |
Hatam ekena rāmeṇa dūṣaṇaḥ triśirā api ॥3-28-2॥
Translation
He saw that the demon army, which was unbearable and possessed of great strength, along with Dushana and Trishira, had been killed by the solitary Rama.

उस (खर) ने देखा कि उसकी विशाल और असहनीय राक्षसी सेना, तथा दूषण और त्रिशिरा भी, अकेले राम द्वारा मार दिए गए हैं।
English Commentary
Khara surveys the battlefield and comprehends the magnitude of his loss. The juxtaposition of mahābalam (great strength) of the army against ekena (one/single) Rama highlights the miraculous nature of the feat. Khara realizes that his military infrastructure—the masses of troops and the elite commanders—has been systematically dismantled. This realization sets the stakes for the final duel: it is no longer a battle of armies, but a personal vendetta.

खर अपनी आँखों के सामने हुए विनाश का आकलन कर रहा है। यहाँ 'अविषह्यम्' (असहनीय/जिसे हराया न जा सके) शब्द का प्रयोग विडंबनापूर्ण है—जिस सेना को कोई हरा नहीं सकता था, वह नष्ट हो गई है। 'एकेन रामेण' (अकेले राम द्वारा) पद खर के आश्चर्य और भय का मुख्य कारण है। यह श्लोक खर के अकेलेपन को गहरा करता है; उसका पूरा साम्राज्य और शक्ति का आधार, उसके देखते-देखते, एक ही व्यक्ति द्वारा मिटा दिया गया।
