शिरसि एकेन बाणेन द्वाभ्याम् बाह्वोर् अथ आर्पयत् ।
त्रिभिः चन्द्र अर्ध वक्त्रैः च वक्षसि अभिजघान ह ॥ ॥३-२८-२७॥
śirasi ekena bāṇena dvābhyām bāhvor atha ārpayat |
tribhiḥ candra ardha vaktraiḥ ca vakṣasi abhijaghāna ha ॥3-28-27॥
Translation
He struck the head with one arrow and the arms with two; then, with three crescent-shaped arrows, he struck him in the chest.

उन्होंने एक बाण खर के मस्तक पर और दो बाण उसकी भुजाओं पर मारे। फिर, तीन अर्धचन्द्रकार (बाणों) से उसकी छाती पर प्रहार किया।
English Commentary
This verse provides the breakdown of the six arrows mentioned previously, showcasing tactical brilliance. One arrow to the head to stun, two to the arms to weaken the enemy's ability to draw his bow, and three ardha-chandra (crescent-headed) arrows to the chest to inflict mortal damage. The mathematical precision (1+2+3=6) amidst the chaos of battle underscores Rama's mastery. He is systematically shutting down Khara's offensive capabilities before delivering the final blow.

पिछले श्लोक के छह बाणों का वितरण (distribution) यहाँ बताया गया है: १ (सिर) + २ (भुजाएं) + ३ (छाती) = ६। 'चन्द्र अर्ध वक्त्रैः' (अर्धचन्द्र के आकार वाले बाण) का प्रयोग विशेष रूप से छाती को भेदने या काटने के लिए किया जाता है। सिर पर वार करके मानसिक संतुलन बिगाड़ना, भुजाओं पर वार करके धनुष चलाने की शक्ति कम करना, और छाती पर वार करके प्राण संकट में डालना—यह श्रीराम की सुनियोजित रणनीति है। यह वर्णन दिखाता है कि श्रीराम का हर बाण एक विशिष्ट उद्देश्य की पूर्ति कर रहा था।
