शर जाल आवृतः सूर्यो न तदा स्म प्रकाशते ।
अन्योन्य वध संरम्भात् उभयोः संप्रयुध्यतोः ॥ ॥३-२८-९॥
Śara jāla āvṛtaḥ sūryo na tadā sma prakāśate |
Anyonya vadha saṃrambhāt ubhayoḥ saṃprayudhyatoḥ ॥3-28-9॥
Translation
While both were fighting with the intent/zeal to kill each other, the sun, covered by the web of arrows, did not shine then.
हिंदी अनुवाद
एक-दूसरे का वध करने के उत्साह से उन दोनों के युद्ध करते समय, बाणों के जाल से ढका हुआ सूर्य तब प्रकाशित नहीं हो पा रहा था।
English Commentary
The climax of this sequence is marked by the blotting out of the sun. The "web of arrows" (śara jāla) acts as a curtain, casting a shadow over the battlefield. This implies that the duel has transcended earthly bounds and is affecting the cosmic order. The phrase anyonya vadha saṃrambhāt (zeal to kill one another) confirms total commitment to mutual destruction. It sets a dark, ominous tone for the final phase of the battle.

युद्ध की तीव्रता इतनी अधिक है कि प्रकृति भी प्रभावित हो गई है। 'शर जाल' (बाणों का जाल) इतना घना है कि उसने सूर्य को ढक लिया है, जिससे दिन में भी अंधेरा छा गया है। 'अन्योन्य वध संरम्भात्' (एक-दूसरे को मारने का उतावलापन/प्रयत्न) स्पष्ट करता है कि यह अब केवल हार-जीत का खेल नहीं, बल्कि जीवन-मृत्यु का संघर्ष है। दोनों योद्धा समान रूप से आक्रामक हैं और कोई भी रक्षात्मक मुद्रा में नहीं है।
