Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
अद्य त्वाम् निहतम् बाणैः पश्यन्तु परमर्षयः ।
निरयस्थम् विमानस्था ये त्वया निहता पुरा ॥ ॥३-२९-१३॥
Adya tvām nihatam bāṇaiḥ paśyantu paramarṣayaḥ |
Nirayastham vimānasthā ye tvayā nihatā purā ॥3-29-13॥
Translation
Let those great sages, who were formerly killed by you, now seated in celestial chariots (Vimanas), behold you today—struck down by my arrows and cast into hell.

जो परमर्षि पहले तुम्हारे द्वारा मारे गए थे, वे अब विमानों में स्थित होकर, आज मेरे बाणों से मारे जाकर नरक में पड़े हुए तुम्हें देखें।
English Commentary
In this verse, Rama invokes the concept of karmic retribution. He positions himself as the instrument of justice for the sages previously murdered by Khara. The contrast is stark and poetic: the victims are now vimānasthā (seated in celestial vehicles, signifying their spiritual elevation), while the aggressor, Khara, will be nirayastham (situated in hell). This imagery serves a dual purpose: it validates the spiritual status of the fallen sages and prophesies the spiritual and physical degradation of Khara. It is a psychological strike, reminding Khara that his past atrocities are the very cause of his impending doom.

यहाँ श्रीराम, खर के पापों का हिसाब चुकता करने के संकल्प की घोषणा कर रहे हैं। यह श्लोक कर्मफल के सिद्धांत और दैवीय न्याय (Divine Justice) को दर्शाता है। श्रीराम कहते हैं कि खर ने जिन तपस्वी ऋषियों की हत्या की थी, वे अब उच्च लोकों (विमानस्था) से अपने हत्यारे का पतन देखेंगे। 'निरयस्थम्' (नरक में स्थित) शब्द का प्रयोग कर राम यह स्पष्ट कर रहे हैं कि खर का अंत केवल मृत्यु नहीं, बल्कि अधोगति है। यह खर के मनोबल को तोड़ने और उसे उसके पापों का स्मरण कराने का एक प्रयास है। वीर रस के साथ-साथ इसमें भयानक रस की भी झलक है, जो खर के भविष्य को अंधकारमय बताती है।
