Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
अद्य विप्रसरिष्यन्ति राक्षस्यो हत बान्धवाः ।
बाष्प आर्द्र वदना दीना भयात् अन्य भयावहाः ॥ ॥३-३०-१०॥
Adya viprasariṣyanti rākṣasyo hata bāndhavāḥ |
Bāṣpa ārdra vadanā dīnā bhayāt anya bhayāvahāḥ ॥3-30-10॥
Translation
Today, the demonesses, whose kinsmen have been slain, will flee in terror—wretched and with faces wet with tears—even though they (formerly) caused terror to others.
हिंदी अनुवाद
आज, जो (राक्षसियां) दूसरों को भयभीत करने वाली थीं, वे अपने भाई-बंधुओं के मारे जाने पर, आंसुओं से भीगे हुए मुख वाली और दीन होकर, स्वयं भय के कारण (इधर-उधर) भागेंगी।
English Commentary
This verse captures a poetic irony. The demonesses are described as anya bhayāvahāḥ—those who used to terrify others. Yet, with Khara's fall, they will become dīnā (wretched/pitiable) and flee in fear. Rama highlights the reversal of roles: the oppressors become the refugees. It serves as a moral commentary that terror eventually recoils upon those who inflict it.

यहाँ नियति के चक्र (Wheel of Fortune) का सुंदर वर्णन है। 'अन्य भयावहाः' (दूसरों को डराने वाली) राक्षसियां आज स्वयं 'भयात्' (डर के मारे) भागेंगी। जो कल तक शिकारी थीं, आज शिकार बन गई हैं। 'बाष्प आर्द्र वदना' (आंसुओं से गीले चेहरे) और 'दीना' (लाचार) शब्द उनकी दयनीय स्थिति को दर्शाते हैं। राम यह बता रहे हैं कि दूसरों को पीड़ा देने वालों को अंततः उसी पीड़ा से गुजरना पड़ता है।
