अद्य शोक रसज्ञाः ताः भविष्यन्ति निरर्थकाः ।
अनुरूप कुलाः पत्न्यो यासाम् त्वम् पतिः ईदृशः ॥ ॥३-३०-११॥
Adya śoka rasajñāḥ tāḥ bhaviṣyanti nirarthakāḥ |
Anurūpa kulāḥ patnyo yāsām tvam patiḥ īdṛśaḥ ॥3-30-11॥
Translation
Today, those wives who belong to a lineage suitable to yours, and whose husband is a person like you, will taste the essence of grief and become destitute (widowed).
हिंदी अनुवाद
जिन पत्नियों के तुम जैसे (क्रूर) पति हो, और जो तुम्हारे अनुरूप (क्रूर) कुल वाली हैं, वे आज शोक के स्वाद को जान लेंगी और (सुहाग छिन जाने से) निरर्थक हो जाएँगी।
English Commentary
Rama extends the consequences of Khara's actions to his household. He notes that Khara's wives, who share his lineage and temperament (anurūpa kulāḥ), will now become śoka rasajñāḥ (connoisseurs of the taste of grief). The term nirarthakāḥ (meaningless/useless) implies that without their protector and husband, their status and happiness will be nullified. It serves as a reminder that the karma of the leader affects his entire clan.

राम यहाँ खर के पारिवारिक जीवन पर प्रहार करते हैं। वे कहते हैं कि खर की पत्नियां भी 'अनुरूप कुलाः' (उसी के जैसे क्रूर कुल वाली) हैं। आज वे 'शोक रसज्ञाः' (शोक के स्वाद को जानने वाली) बनेंगी। 'निरर्थकाः' शब्द का उपयोग यहाँ विधवा जीवन की शून्यता या जीवन के उद्देश्यहीन हो जाने के संदर्भ में किया गया है। यह खर को यह अनुभव कराने के लिए है कि उसके पापों का दंड उसके परिवार को भी भोगना पड़ेगा।
