स तत् दत्तम् मघवता सुर राजेन धीमता ।
संदधे च स धर्मात्मा मुमोच च खरम् प्रति ॥ ॥३-३०-२५॥
Sa tat dattam maghavatā sura rājena dhīmatā । Saṃdadhe ca sa dharmātmā mumoca ca kharam prati ॥ ॥3-30-25॥
Translation
That arrow, which was given by the wise Indra, the king of gods, was nocked by the righteous Rama and released toward Khara.

बुद्धिमान देवराज इंद्र द्वारा दिए गए उस बाण को धर्मात्मा राम ने धनुष पर चढ़ाया और खर के प्रति छोड़ दिया।
English Commentary
This verse clarifies the provenance of the weapon. The arrow is celestial, gifted by Indra (Maghavan), implying that mere mortal weapons were insufficient for this task or that the gods are active participants in this victory through their gifts. Rama is referred to as Dharmatma (the soul of righteousness) right at the moment of killing, reinforcing that this violence is a sanctioned act of duty (Dharma), not personal malice. The connection between Indra (King of Gods) and Rama highlights the restoration of divine order.

यहाँ इस बाण का इतिहास बताया गया है। यद्यपि वनवास के दौरान अगस्त्य मुनि ने राम को धनुष और बाण दिए थे, वे मूल रूप से इंद्र (मघवा) के ही थे (या इंद्र द्वारा अगस्त्य के माध्यम से दिए गए थे)। 'धर्मात्मा' विशेषण का प्रयोग यहाँ महत्वपूर्ण है। राम क्रोध में हत्या नहीं कर रहे, बल्कि धर्म की स्थापना के लिए यह कार्य कर रहे हैं। बाण का संधान (चढ़ाना) और मोचन (छोड़ना) एक ही लय में होता है, जो राम की एकाग्रता और निपुणता को दर्शाता है। यह दैवीय शक्ति (इंद्र का बाण) और मानवीय धर्म (राम का कर्म) का संयोग है।
