एषा बाण विनिर्भिन्ना गदा भूमि तलम् गता ।
अभिधान प्रगल्भस्य तव प्रत्यय घातिनी ॥ ॥३-३०-३॥
Eṣā bāṇa vinirbhinnā gadā bhūmi talam gatā |
Abhidhāna pragalbhasya tava pratyaya ghātinī ॥3-30-3॥
Translation
This mace, shattered by arrows and lying on the ground, destroys the confidence of you who are arrogant merely in speech.
हिंदी अनुवाद
बाणों से टूटकर धरती पर पड़ी हुई यह गदा, केवल बातों में ही शूरवीर (प्रगल्भ) बनने वाले तुम्हारे विश्वास (प्रत्यय) का नाश करने वाली है।
English Commentary
Rama interprets the fallen mace as a symbol of Khara's undoing. Khara is described as abhidhāna pragalbha (audacious in speech/braggart). The shattered mace acts as pratyaya ghātinī—the destroyer of his trust or confidence. Rama implies that Khara’s confidence was built on this weapon, and with its destruction, the foundation of his arrogance has collapsed.

यह श्लोक मनोवैज्ञानिक चोट पहुँचाता है। राम कहते हैं कि खर केवल 'अभिधान प्रगल्भ' (बोलने में चतुर/डींग मारने वाला) है। गदा का गिरना केवल एक हथियार का गिरना नहीं है, बल्कि यह 'प्रत्यय घातिनी' (विश्वास की हत्या करने वाली) घटना है। जिस गदा पर खर को भरोसा था, उसके टुकड़े देखकर उसका आत्मविश्वास भी चकनाचूर हो गया है। राम भौतिक विजय के साथ-साथ मानसिक विजय भी प्राप्त कर रहे हैं।
