यत् त्वया उक्तम् विनष्टानाम् इदम् अश्रु प्रमार्जनम् ।
राक्षसानाम् करोमि इति मिथ्या तत् अपि ते वचः ॥ ॥३-३०-४॥
Yat tvayā uktam vinaṣṭānām idam aśru pramārjanam |
Rākṣasānām karomi iti mithyā tat api te vacaḥ ॥3-30-4॥
Translation
That statement made by you—"I shall wipe away the tears of the destroyed demons"—that word of yours too has turned out to be false.
हिंदी अनुवाद
तुमने जो यह कहा था कि "मारे गए राक्षसों के आंसुओं को मैं पोंछूँगा"—तुम्हारा वह वचन भी झूठा हो गया।
English Commentary
Rama specifically targets Khara’s earlier vow to avenge the 14,000 dead demons (aśru pramārjanam). By declaring this vow mithyā (false), Rama highlights Khara’s failure as a leader and a warrior. It reinforces the idea that Khara’s words hold no weight against Rama’s actions. This is the final dismantling of Khara's honor before his physical destruction.
हिंदी टीका
राम खर को उसके पिछले संवाद (श्लोक 24) की याद दिलाते हैं। खर ने प्रतिज्ञा की थी कि वह अपने साथियों का बदला लेगा। राम अब सिद्ध कर रहे हैं कि वह प्रतिज्ञा 'मिथ्या' (असत्य) थी। क्षत्रिय धर्म में वचन का पालन न कर पाना मृत्यु से भी बड़ी पराजय मानी जाती है। राम उसे यह एहसास दिला रहे हैं कि वह न केवल युद्ध हार रहा है, बल्कि अपने कुल और अनुयायियों के प्रति अपना कर्तव्य निभाने में भी असफल रहा है।
