न तम् वध्यम् अहम् मन्ये सर्वैः देव असुरैः अपि ।
अयम् अस्य वध उपाय तत् एकमनाः शृणु ॥३-३१-२८॥
na tam vadhyam aham manye sarvaiḥ deva asuraiḥ api |
ayam asya vadha upāya tat ekamanāḥ śṛṇu ॥3-31-28॥
Translation
I do not consider him (Rama) to be killable even by all the Devas and Asuras combined. There is, however, this one means for his death; listen to it with a focused mind.
हिंदी अनुवाद
मैं नहीं मानता कि वह (राम) सभी देवताओं और असुरों द्वारा भी वध करने योग्य हैं। उनके वध का (एकमात्र) यही उपाय है, उसे एकाग्रचित्त होकर सुनिए।
English Commentary
This verse marks a pivotal shift in the conflict. Akampana, having witnessed the massacre in Janasthana, frankly informs Ravana that Rama is invincible in direct combat, even if attacked by the combined forces of gods and demons. By stating "I do not consider him killable," Akampana challenges Ravana's arrogance, forcing the King of Lanka to consider an alternative approach. The phrase "listen with a focused mind" underscores the gravity of the strategy he is about to propose. It implies that the method to defeat Rama lies not in weaponry, but in exploiting a vulnerability that is personal rather than martial.

यह श्लोक अकंपन द्वारा रावण को दी गई सलाह का महत्वपूर्ण अंश है। जनस्थान में राम के पराक्रम को प्रत्यक्ष देखने के बाद, अकंपन समझ गया है कि राम को युद्ध के मैदान में हराना असंभव है। यहाँ वह रावण को, जो अपने बाहुबल पर अत्यधिक गर्व करता है, एक कठोर सत्य बता रहा है—कि राम अजेय हैं। 'एकमनाः शृणु' (एकाग्रचित्त होकर सुनें) का प्रयोग दर्शाता है कि अकंपन अब जो बताने जा रहा है, वह युद्धनीति नहीं, बल्कि एक कपटपूर्ण मनोवैज्ञानिक प्रहार है। वह रावण का ध्यान शारीरिक बल से हटाकर कूटनीति की ओर मोड़ रहा है।
