देव असुर विमर्देषु वज्र अशनि कृत व्रणम् ।
ऐरावत विषाण अग्रैः उत्कृष्ट किण वक्षसम् ॥३-३२-७॥
deva asura vimardeṣu vajra aśani kṛta vraṇam |
airāvata viṣāṇa agraiḥ utkṛṣṭa kiṇa vakṣasam ॥3-32-7॥
Translation
In the battles between Devas and Asuras, he had sustained scars from the Thunderbolt (Vajra) and lightning. His chest bore the rough marks/scars made by the tips of Airavata's tusks.
हिंदी अनुवाद
देवासुर संग्रामों में (इंद्र के) वज्र और बिजली (अशनि) के प्रहारों से उसके शरीर पर घाव बने हुए थे। उसके वक्षस्थल पर ऐरावत हाथी के दांतों (विषाण) की रगड़ से बने गहरे निशान सुशोभित थे।

Ravana's body is described as a tapestry of battle scars, serving as medals of his conquests. He bears the marks of the Vajra (Thunderbolt), the supreme weapon of Indra, proving he has survived hits that would annihilate others. The scars from Airavata's tusks on his chest indicate close-quarters combat with the King of Gods himself. These details transform the description from mere ornamentation to a testament of resilience and raw power; he is a veteran of cosmic wars.

रावण का शरीर उसके युद्ध इतिहास का दस्तावेज है। यह श्लोक बताता है कि वह विलासी राजा मात्र नहीं है, बल्कि एक कठोर योद्धा है जिसने इंद्र के वज्र का सीधा प्रहार झेला है। 'वज्र अशनि कृत व्रणम्'—वज्र के घाव उसके पराक्रम के आभूषण हैं। 'ऐरावत विषाण' (इंद्र के हाथी के दाँत) के घाव बताते हैं कि उसने इंद्र के साथ आमने-सामने मल्लयुद्ध या अत्यंत निकट की लड़ाई लड़ी है। ये निशान उसकी सहनशक्ति और कठोरता का प्रमाण हैं।
