ऋषीणाम् अभयम् दत्तम् कृत क्षेमाः च दण्डकाः ॥ ॥३-३४-१०॥
ṛṣīṇām abhayam dattam kṛta kṣemāḥ ca daṇḍakāḥ ॥ ॥3-34-10॥
Translation
Safety has been given to the sages, and the Dandaka forest has been made secure.
हिंदी अनुवाद
(राम ने) ऋषियों को अभय दान दिया और दण्डक वन को (राक्षसों से मुक्त कर) सुरक्षित कर दिया।
English Commentary
This brief line summarizes the geopolitical aftermath of the battle. Shurpanakha reports the total loss of Rakshasa control over the region. Abhayam (freedom from fear) has been granted to the Rishis, the natural enemies of the Rakshasas. The Dandaka forest is now kṛta kṣemāḥ (rendered peaceful/secure). For Ravana, a king, this is a territorial loss. It signifies that Rama has effectively liberated the colony of Dandaka from Ravana's empire, establishing the rule of Law and Dharma in place of terror.

यह श्लोक उस युद्ध का 'राजनैतिक' और 'धार्मिक' परिणाम है। शूर्पणखा बता रही है कि राम की विजय का वास्तविक प्रभाव क्या हुआ। 'ऋषीणाम् अभयम् दत्तम्'—जो ऋषि पहले डरते थे, अब निर्भय हैं। 'कृत क्षेमाः च दण्डकाः'—दण्डकारण्य, जो राक्षसों का गढ़ था, अब 'क्षेम' (कल्याण/सुरक्षा) युक्त हो गया है। यह रावण के साम्राज्य का सीधा ह्रास है। जनस्थान (राक्षसों की चौकी) के नष्ट होने से रावण का भू-राजनैतिक (geopolitical) नियंत्रण समाप्त हो गया है। शूर्पणखा यह इसलिए बता रही है ताकि रावण को यह महसूस हो कि उसका राज्य छिन रहा है।
