Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
स तेन तु प्रहर्षेण द्विगुणी कृत विक्रमः ।
अमृत आनयनार्थम् वै चकार मतिमान् मतिम् ॥ ॥३-३५-३४॥
Sa tena tu praharṣeṇa dviguṇī kṛta vikramaḥ । Amṛta ānayanārtham vai cakāra matimān matim ॥ ॥3-35-34॥
Translation
Due to that joy, his valor was doubled. The wise one then set his mind on bringing the Amrita (Nectar of Immortality).
हिंदी अनुवाद
उस हर्ष से उनका पराक्रम दोगुना हो गया। तब उस बुद्धिमान (गरुड़) ने अमृत लाने का विचार (मति) किया।
English Commentary
The consequence of Garuda's righteous act is an increase in power. His valor is dviguṇī kṛta (doubled) by the sheer joy of doing good. Empowered by this, the matimān (wise/intelligent one) resolves to undertake his most famous quest: stealing the Amrita (amṛta ānayanārtham) from heaven. This verse connects the local geography (the Banyan tree) to one of the most significant events in Hindu mythology (the churning of the ocean/theft of Amrita), charging the atmosphere with the energy of impossible feats and successful ambition.

यह गरुड़ कथा का समापन और उनके अगले बड़े कार्य की भूमिका है। ऋषियों की रक्षा करने से प्राप्त आत्म-संतोष ने उनके बल को 'द्विगुणी कृत' (दोगुना) कर दिया। सात्विक कार्य करने से शक्ति क्षीण नहीं होती, बल्कि बढ़ती है। इसी बढ़े हुए उत्साह और आत्मविश्वास के साथ, गरुड़ ने 'अमृत आनयनार्थम्' (अमृत लाने के लिए) संकल्प किया। यह अमृत अपनी माता विनता को दासता से मुक्त कराने के लिए आवश्यक था। यह संदर्भ रावण के लिए भी एक संकेत है—वह उस स्थान पर है जहाँ ऐसे महान संकल्प लिए गए थे।
