ते बाणा वज्र संकाशाः सुघोरा रक्त भोजनाः ।
आजग्मुः सहिताः सर्वे त्रयः संनतपर्वणः ।
॥३-३९-११॥
Te bāṇā vajra saṃkāśāḥ sughorā rakta bhojanāḥ । Ājagmuḥ sahitāḥ sarve trayaḥ saṃnataparvaṇāḥ ॥ ॥3-39-11॥
Translation
Then, drawing his massive bow, he released three sharp, enemy-destroying arrows that moved with the speed of Garuda and the wind.

तब राम ने अपना विशाल धनुष तानकर तीन तीखे बाण छोड़े, जो शत्रुओं का नाश करने वाले थे और गरुड़ तथा वायु के समान तीव्र गति वाले थे।
English Commentary
This verse emphasizes Rama's lightning-fast reaction and overwhelming power. The moment the threat appeared, Rama drew his sumahat chapam (massive bow) and fired. The comparison of the arrows' speed to Suparna (Garuda) and Anila (the wind) suggests inescapable velocity. Maricha notes that three arrows were fired—precise and deadly. This technical description of Rama's archery serves to intimidate Ravana, making it clear that Rama is not just a spiritual ascetic but a warrior of supernatural caliber whose weapons strike before one can even blink.

यहाँ राम की प्रतिक्रिया की गति (reflexes) और शक्ति का वर्णन है। जैसे ही मारीच दौड़ा, राम ने तत्काल 'सुमहत् चापम्' (विशाल धनुष) तान लिया। 'त्रयो बाणाः' (तीन बाण) छोड़े गए—संभवतः एक मारीच के लिए और दो उसके साथियों के लिए। बाणों की गति की तुलना 'सुपर्ण' (गरुड़) और 'अनिल' (वायु) से की गई है, जो यह बताती है कि शत्रु को बचने का कोई अवसर नहीं मिला। मारीच यह समझा रहा है कि राम का आक्रमण इतना त्वरित होता है कि संभलने का समय ही नहीं मिलता।
