ह्रियमाणौ तु काकुत्स्थौ दृष्ट्वा सीता रघूत्तमौ ।
उच्चैः स्वरेण चुक्रोश प्रगृह्य सु महाभुजौ ॥ ॥३-४-१॥
Hriyamāṇau tu kākutsthau dṛṣṭvā sītā raghūttamau |
uccaiḥ svareṇa cukrośa pragṛhya su mahābhujau ॥3-4-1॥
Translation
Seeing the two long-armed scions of Kakutstha, the best of Raghus, being carried away, Sita screamed loudly in distress.
हिंदी अनुवाद
रघुकुल श्रेष्ठ और महाबाहु राम और लक्ष्मण का अपहरण होते देख, सीता जी ने ऊँचे स्वर में क्रंदन (चीत्कार) किया।
English Commentary
The focus shifts to Sita, the solitary witness to this abduction. Seeing her invincible protectors—described as mahabhujau (mighty-armed)—being helpless captives evokes sheer terror in her. She cries out loudly (uccaih svarena). This moment is pivotal as it humanizes the divine characters; Sita's reaction is raw and panic-stricken. It also serves as the catalyst that snaps the brothers out of their strategic passivity, as they cannot bear to hear her distress.

अब दृश्य सीता जी पर केंद्रित होता है। 'ह्रियमाणौ' (हरकर ले जाए जाते हुए) पतियों को देखकर उनका धैर्य टूट गया। सीता जी का 'उच्चैः स्वरेण' (ऊँचे स्वर में) रोना उनकी असहायता और भय को दर्शाता है। श्रीराम, जो 'रघूत्तम' (रघुओं में उत्तम) और 'महाभुज' (विशाल भुजाओं वाले रक्षक) हैं, आज स्वयं विवश प्रतीत हो रहे थे, यह दृश्य सीता के लिए असहनीय था। यह श्लोक मानवीय भावनाओं और प्रेम की गहराई को प्रकट करता है; देवी होने पर भी सीता यहाँ एक पत्नी के रूप में व्यथित हैं।
