तस्याः तत् वचनम् श्रुत्वा वैदेह्याः राम लक्ष्मणौ ।
वेगम् प्रचक्रतुर् वीरौ वधे तस्य दुरात्मनः ॥ ॥३-४-४॥
Tasyāḥ tat vacanam śrutvā vaidehyāḥ rāma lakṣmaṇau |
vegam pracakratur vīrau vadhe tasya durātmanaḥ ॥3-4-4॥
Translation
Hearing those words of Vaidehi, the two heroes, Rama and Lakshmana, acted with great speed to kill that evil-souled demon.
हिंदी अनुवाद
वैदेही (सीता) के उन वचनों को सुनकर, वीर राम और लक्ष्मण ने उस दुरात्मा (विराध) के वध के लिए तत्काल वेग (फुर्ती) दिखाया।
English Commentary
Sita's desperate plea acts as the turning point. The strategic patience Rama displayed earlier evaporates the moment he hears his wife begging for their lives and offering her own. The mention of vegam (speed/haste) indicates an immediate shift from passive observation to lethal action. The psychological impact of seeing their beloved Vaidehi in such a state compels the brothers to execute the duratmanah (evil-souled one) without further delay.

सीता के करुण क्रंदन और आत्म-त्याग भरे वचनों ने राम और लक्ष्मण के धैर्य को तोड़ दिया। अब तक जो राम शांत थे, सीता की दीनता देखकर उनका क्षत्रिय रक्त खौल उठा। 'वेगम् प्रचक्रतुर्' (वेग दिखाया/तेजी की) दर्शाता है कि अब निष्क्रियता का समय समाप्त हो चुका था। पत्नी को गिड़गिड़ाते देख राम के लिए राक्षस को जीवित छोड़ना असंभव था। सीता की वाणी ने उत्प्रेरक (catalyst) का काम किया, जिससे विराध के वध की प्रक्रिया आरम्भ हुई।
