मणिप्रवर शृंगाग्रः सित असित मुखाकृतिः ।
रक्तपद्मोत्पल मुख इन्द्रनीलोत्पल श्रवाः ॥ ॥३-४२-१६॥
Maṇipravara śṛṅgāgraḥ sita asita mukhākṛtiḥ । Raktapadmotpala mukha indranīlotpala śravāḥ ॥ ॥3-42-16॥
Translation
The tips of his horns were like excellent gems; his face was patterned in white and black. His mouth resembled a red lotus, and his ears were like blue lotuses (sapphires).
हिंदी अनुवाद
उसके सींगों के अग्रभाग श्रेष्ठ मणियों (मणिप्रवर) जैसे थे। मुख की आकृति श्वेत और कृष्ण (चितकबरी) थी। उसका मुँह लाल कमल (रक्तपद्म) जैसा और कान नीले कमल (इन्द्रनील/नीलोत्पल) जैसे थे।
English Commentary
This verse details the chromatic brilliance of the illusion. It is a kaleidoscope of colors: gem-tipped horns, a black-and-white face, a red lotus mouth, and blue lotus ears. The specific comparison to indranīla (sapphire) and padma (lotus) suggests a texture that is both mineral and floral—hard and soft, shining and delicate. It creates a creature that looks less like an animal and more like a living jewel.
