प्रतिलोम अनुलोमाः च रुचिरा रोम राजयः ।
शोभन्ते मृगम् आश्रित्य चित्राः कनक बिन्दुभिः ॥३-४३-२७॥
pratiloma anulomāḥ ca rucirā roma rājayaḥ |
śobhante mṛgam āśritya citrāḥ kanaka bindubhiḥ ॥3-43-27॥
Translation
The beautiful rows of hair, growing both with and against the grain, adorned with golden spots, appear resplendent upon this deer.

इस मृग के शरीर पर सीधे और उल्टे (दोनों तरफ उगे हुए) सुंदर रोमों की पंक्तियाँ हैं, जो सोने के बिंदुओं से विचित्र होकर शोभा पा रही हैं।

Rama describes the deer with the keen eye of a connoisseur or a hunter observing a rare specimen. He points out the 'roma rajayah' (rows of hair) that grow both 'anuloma' (with the grain) and 'pratiloma' (against the grain), creating a unique, velvety texture.
