कस्य रूपम् इदम् दृष्ट्वा जांबूनदमय प्रभम् ।
नाना रत्नमयम् दिव्यम् न मनो विस्मयम् व्रजेत् ॥३-४३-३०॥
kasya rūpam idam dṛṣṭvā jāṃbūnadamaya prabham |
nānā ratnamayam divyam na mano vismayam vrajet ॥3-43-30॥
Translation
Seeing this divine form, radiant like gold and studded with various gems, whose mind would not be struck with wonder?

सुवर्णमयी आभा वाले और नाना प्रकार के रत्नों से युक्त इस दिव्य रूप को देखकर किसका मन विस्मय को प्राप्त नहीं होगा?
English Commentary
This verse reiterates the sentiment of the previous one, emphasizing the 'divyam' (divine/celestial) nature of the deer. Rama focuses on its 'jambunadamaya prabham' (radiance of river-gold) and its appearance of being encrusted with various gems ('nana ratnamayam'). He insists that wonder ('vismayam') is the natural reaction to such a sight. By framing the deer as a miraculous entity, Rama creates a compelling case for the hunt. He is essentially telling Lakshmana that ignoring such a creature would be impossible for anyone, thus justifying his decision to leave Sita's side to catch it.

यह पिछले श्लोक के भाव का ही विस्तार है। श्रीराम बार-बार 'विस्मय' (आश्चर्य) शब्द पर जोर दे रहे हैं। वे मृग को 'दिव्यम्' (लौकिक नहीं, बल्कि दिव्य) मानते हैं। 'जांबूनदमय प्रभम्' का अर्थ है विशिष्ट सोने जैसी चमक। श्रीराम का मानना है कि इस मृग का रूप इतना विचित्र और बहुमूल्य है कि कोई भी व्यक्ति, चाहे वह कितना भी संयमी क्यों न हो, इसे देखकर चकित रह जाएगा। यह लक्ष्मण को मनाने का अंतिम प्रयास है कि मृग का पीछा करना केवल एक स्त्री की हठ नहीं, बल्कि एक अद्वितीय अवसर है।
