न कादली न प्रियकी न प्रवेणी न च अविकी ।
भवेत् एतस्य सदृशी स्पर्शनेन इति मे मतिः ॥३-४३-३६॥
na kādalī na priyakī na praveṇī na ca avikī |
bhavet etasya sadṛśī sparśanena iti me matiḥ ॥3-43-36॥
Translation
In my opinion, neither the Kadali hide, nor the Priyaki, nor the Praveni, nor the Aviki (sheep's wool) can compare to this deer in touch.
हिंदी अनुवाद
मेरी बुद्धि (मत) के अनुसार, न तो कादली (मृग विशेष की खाल), न प्रियकी, न प्रवेणी (चटाई या कंबल) और न ही भेड़ की ऊन (अविकी) स्पर्श में इसके समान हो सकती है।
English Commentary
Rama displays his knowledge of textiles and natural materials to emphasize the deer's uniqueness. He compares its hide to 'Kadali' and 'Priyaki' (skins of specific deer species known for softness), 'Praveni' (a fine woven woolen blanket), and 'Aviki' (sheep's wool). He concludes that none rival the tactile sensation ('sparshanena') of this golden deer. By listing these high-quality materials, Rama reinforces the idea that the golden deer is superior to the finest goods available, making it a prize that surpasses all known standards of luxury, further justifying the hunt.

श्रीराम यहाँ एक विशेषज्ञ की तरह विभिन्न प्रकार के चर्म और ऊनी वस्त्रों की तुलना कर रहे हैं। 'कादली' और 'प्रियकी' विशेष प्रकार के मृगों के नाम हैं जिनके चर्म बहुत कोमल माने जाते थे। 'प्रवेणी' एक प्रकार का ऊनी आस्तरण है और 'अविकी' भेड़ की ऊन है। श्रीराम का कहना है कि उन्होंने ये सभी उत्तम वस्तुएं देखी और छुई हैं, किन्तु इस स्वर्ण मृग का स्पर्श इन सबसे परे, अद्वितीय है। यह तुलना यह सिद्ध करने के लिए है कि यह मृग सामान्य वन्य जीव नहीं है और इसे प्राप्त करना एक दुर्लभ उपलब्धि होगी।
