यावत् पृषतम् एकेन सायकेन निहन्मि अहम् ।
हत्वा एतत् चर्म च आदाय शीघ्रम् एष्यामि लक्ष्मण ॥३-४३-५०॥
yāvat pṛṣatam ekena sāyakena nihanmi aham |
hatvā etat carma ca ādāya śīghram eṣyāmi lakṣmaṇa ॥3-43-50॥
Translation
I shall strike down this spotted deer with a single arrow. Having killed it and taken this skin, I will return quickly, O Lakshmana.
हिंदी अनुवाद
मैं इस चित्तीदार मृग (पृषतम्) को एक ही बाण से मार गिराऊँगा और इसे मारकर, इसकी खाल लेकर शीघ्र ही लौट आऊँगा, हे लक्ष्मण!
English Commentary
Rama displays the confidence of a master archer. He anticipates a short engagement, claiming he needs only 'ekena sayakena' (one arrow) to dispatch the beast. He outlines the operational plan: kill, skin, and return. The phrase 'shighram eshyami' (I will come quickly) is meant to minimize the perceived risk of separation. Rama views this as a minor excursion, underestimating the cunning of the demon who intends to draw him far away from the hermitage.

श्रीराम अपनी युद्ध कौशल क्षमता प्रकट करते हैं। उन्हें विश्वास है कि उन्हें अधिक समय नहीं लगेगा—केवल 'एकेन सायकेन' (एक बाण) ही पर्याप्त होगा। वे पूरी योजना बताते हैं: मारना, खाल लेना और लौटना। 'शीघ्रम् एष्यामि' (जल्दी आऊँगा) कहकर वे लक्ष्मण और सीता को आश्वस्त कर रहे हैं कि वियोग क्षणिक होगा। किन्तु नियति को कुछ और ही मंजूर था, क्योंकि मारीच उन्हें बहुत दूर ले जाने वाला था।
