मुमोच ज्वलितम् दीप्तम् अस्त्रम् ब्रह्म विनिर्मितम् ।
शरीरम् मृग रूपस्य विनिर्भिद्य शरोत्तमः ॥३-४४-१५॥
Mumoca jvalitam dīptam astram brahma vinirmitam |
Śarīram mṛga rūpasya vinirbhidya śarottamaḥ ॥3-44-15॥
Translation
He released that blazing, radiant weapon which was fashioned by Brahma. That excellent arrow pierced through the body of the one in the deer's guise.
हिंदी अनुवाद
उन्होंने उस ज्वलंत और दीप्त 'ब्रह्म-निर्मित' अस्त्र को छोड़ दिया। उस श्रेष्ठ बाण ने मृग रूपधारी (मारीच) के शरीर को भेद दिया।
English Commentary
The climax of the physical confrontation occurs here. Rama releases (mumoca) the weapon. Significantly, it is identified as astram brahma vinirmitam (a weapon created by Brahma). The use of such a high-tier celestial weapon against a "deer" confirms that Rama was engaging the demon within, not the animal without. The arrow is śarottamaḥ (the best of arrows), and it successfully penetrates (vinirbhidya) the body of the deer-disguise. This impact symbolizes the piercing of the veil of illusion (Maya). The blazing nature of the weapon contrasts with the deceptive, shifting nature of the demon, bringing a decisive end to the chase.

श्रीराम ने अंततः प्रहार किया। जिस अस्त्र का प्रयोग किया गया, वह साधारण नहीं था, बल्कि 'ब्रह्म विनिर्मितम्' (ब्रह्मा द्वारा निर्मित) था। यह इस बात का संकेत है कि श्रीराम को आभास हो गया था कि यह कोई सामान्य मृग नहीं है, बल्कि कोई मायावी शक्ति है जिसे नष्ट करने के लिए दिव्यास्त्र की आवश्यकता है। बाण 'ज्वलितम्' और 'दीप्तम्' (प्रज्वलित और प्रकाशमान) था। 'शरोत्तमः' (बाणों में श्रेष्ठ) उस अस्त्र ने मृग के शरीर को 'विनिर्भिद्य' (बुरी तरह भेद दिया या आर-पार हो गया)। माया का आवरण अब टूटने वाला है। हिंदी टीका में इसे सत्य द्वारा असत्य (माया) के भेदन के रूप में देखा जाता है। ब्रह्मास्त्र का प्रयोग शत्रु की गंभीरता को सिद्ध करता है।
