न त्वाम् अस्मिन् वने हातुम् उत्सहे राघवम् विना ।
अनिवार्यम् बलम् तस्य बलैः बलवताम् अपि ॥३-४५-१४॥
Na tvām asmin vane hātum utsahe rāghavam vinā । Anivāryam balam tasya balaiḥ balavatām api ॥3-45-14॥
Translation
I cannot dare to leave you alone in this forest without Raghava. His strength is unstoppable and unconquerable, even by the combined might of the strongest beings.
हिंदी अनुवाद
राघव (श्री राम) के बिना मैं आपको इस वन में अकेला छोड़ने का साहस नहीं कर सकता। उनका बल सबसे अधिक बलवानों के द्वारा भी अजेय और अनिवार्य है।
English Commentary
In this verse, Lakshmana upholds his duty as a protector and his unwavering faith in his brother. He tries to reason with Sita, explaining that the forest is perilous and leaving her unguarded is not an option. His assertion that Rama’s strength is "anivāryam" (unstoppable/irresistible) emphasizes his belief that Rama is invincible. Lakshmana understands that the cry for help is a deception. He argues that a warrior of Rama's caliber, who can withstand the might of the strongest entities in existence, implies that any cry of distress is inherently false. Lakshmana is torn between obeying Sita’s frantic commands and adhering to the supreme instruction of Rama to protect her. He chooses logic and faith, assuring her that Rama is in no danger.

लक्ष्मण यहाँ अपने भ्रातृ-धर्म और रक्षक के दायित्व का पालन कर रहे हैं। वे सीता जी को समझाते हैं कि वन संकटों से भरा है, और राम की अनुपस्थिति में उन्हें अकेला छोड़ना अनुचित है। लक्ष्मण को राम के पराक्रम पर पूर्ण विश्वास है। 'अनिवार्यम् बलम् तस्य' कहकर वे स्पष्ट करते हैं कि राम को किसी सहायता की आवश्यकता नहीं है; वे स्वयं काल के समान हैं। लक्ष्मण जानते हैं कि मारीच की पुकार केवल एक छल है, इसलिए वे अपनी जगह से हटने को तैयार नहीं हैं। उनका तर्क है कि जिस राम के बल के सामने देवता और दानव भी नहीं ठहर सकते, उनके लिए विलाप करना व्यर्थ है। यहाँ लक्ष्मण की कर्तव्यनिष्ठा और राम के प्रति उनकी अटूट श्रद्धा प्रदर्शित होती है, जो सीता के भय को तर्क से शांत करने का प्रयास कर रही है।
