Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
सुदुष्टः त्वम् वने रामम् एकम् एको अनुगच्छसि ।
मम हेतोः प्रतिच्छन्नः प्रयुक्तो भरतेन वा ॥३-४५-२४॥
Suduṣṭaḥ tvam vane rāmam ekam eko anugacchasi । Mama hetoḥ praticchannaḥ prayukto bharate na vā ॥3-45-24॥
Translation
You are extremely wicked! You have followed Rama alone into the forest either for my sake [lusting after me] or because you were employed by Bharata [as a spy/assassin].

तुम अत्यंत दुष्ट हो! तुम अकेले राम के साथ वन में इसलिए आए हो क्योंकि या तो तुम मुझे (पाने की) इच्छा रखते हो, या भरत ने तुम्हें (राम का नाश करने के लिए) नियुक्त किया है।
English Commentary
This is the most devastating verse in the exchange. Sita levels two catastrophic accusations against Lakshmana to force him to leave. First, she accuses him of lust ("Mama hetoh" - for my sake), implying he wants Rama dead so he can possess her. Second, she accuses him of treason, suggesting he is a sleeper agent employed by Bharata ("Prayukto Bharatena") to ensure Rama never returns to Ayodhya. Calling him "Sudushtah" (very wicked), she deconstructs his entire sacrifice of exile, painting it as a sinister plot. For Lakshmana, whose purity and loyalty are absolute, these words are unbearable. This verbal blow shatters his resistance, leaving him no choice but to depart to prove his innocence.

यह श्लोक सीता के आरोपों की पराकाष्ठा है और लक्ष्मण के वन छोड़ने का तात्कालिक कारण बनता है। सीता लक्ष्मण पर दो घिनौने आरोप लगाती हैं: १) काम-भावना ('मम हेतोः' - मेरे लिए/मुझे पाने के लिए), और २) राजद्रोह (भरत द्वारा भेजा गया गुप्तचर)। वे कहती हैं कि लक्ष्मण 'सुदुष्ट' (महापापी) हैं जो राम के पीछे-पीछे इन्हीं कुत्सित उद्देश्यों से आए हैं। लक्ष्मण, जो जितेन्द्रिय हैं और जिन्होंने सीता को कभी चरणों से ऊपर नहीं देखा, उनके लिए यह सुनना मृत्यु से भी बदतर है। सीता का यह कथन पूरी तरह से भय और मोह से उत्पन्न अविवेक का परिणाम है, जो अंततः रावण द्वारा उनके अपहरण की पृष्ठभूमि तैयार करता है।
