रोहिणीम् शशिना हीनाम् ग्रहवत् भृश दारुणः ।
तम् उग्रम् पाप कर्माणम् जनस्थान गता द्रुमाः ॥३-४६-६॥
Rohiṇīm śaśinā hīnām grahavat bhṛśa dāruṇaḥ । Tam ugram pāpa karmāṇam janasthāna gatā drumāḥ ॥3-46-6॥
Translation
[He looked at her] like an exceedingly terrible planet [approaching] Rohini when she is bereft of the Moon. Seeing that fierce doer of sinful deeds, the trees in Janasthana...

English Commentary
Another astrological metaphor reinforces the threat. Sita is likened to 'Rohini,' the favorite constellation/wife of the Moon, and Ravana to a 'bhrisha darunah grahah' (severely malefic planet, like Saturn or Mars) menacing her in the Moon's absence. This suggests a violation of cosmic order. Ravana is explicitly labeled 'ugram' (fierce) and 'papa karmanam' (doer of sinful deeds). The mere presence of such concentrated evil affects the environment. The verse ends mid-sentence, leading into the reaction of nature (the trees) in the next verse, building suspense.

उपमाओं का क्रम जारी है। अब सीता की तुलना 'रोहिणी' नक्षत्र से और रावण की तुलना 'भृश दारुणः ग्रहवत्' (अत्यंत क्रूर ग्रह, जैसे केतु या मंगल) से की गई है। ज्योतिष में रोहिणी चंद्रमा की प्रिय पत्नी मानी जाती है। चंद्रमा (राम) की अनुपस्थिति में क्रूर ग्रह रोहिणी को पीड़ा देने आ रहा है। रावण को 'उग्रम्' (भयानक) और 'पाप कर्माणम्' (पाप कर्म करने वाला) कहा गया है। उसकी उपस्थिति इतनी भयानक है कि प्रकृति भी कांप उठती है। यह श्लोक बताता है कि रावण का आगमन केवल एक व्यक्ति का आना नहीं, बल्कि एक ब्रह्मांडीय आपदा (cosmic calamity) जैसा है।
