दैवतानि च यान्ति अस्मिन् वने विविध पादपे ।
नमस्करोमि अहम् तेभ्यो भर्तुः शंसत माम् हृताम् ॥ ॥३-४९-३२॥
daivatāni ca yānti asmin vane vividha pādape । namaskaromi aham tebhyo bhartuḥ śaṃsata mām hṛtām ॥ ॥3-49-32॥
Translation
I bow to the deities who dwell in the various trees of this forest. Please inform my husband that I have been abducted.

इस वन के विभिन्न वृक्षों पर जो देवता निवास करते हैं, मैं उन्हें नमस्कार करती हूँ। आप लोग मेरे पति को बता दें कि मेरा अपहरण हो गया है।
English Commentary
Sita broadens her appeal to the supernatural realm, addressing the daivatāni (deities/spirits) believed to inhabit the trees. This reflects the ancient ecological spirituality where nature is sentient. Her request remains consistent: inform her husband. The repetition of her plea to different entities (river, trees, deities) emphasizes her desperation and her strategic attempt to ensure that at least one witness testifies to Rama. She is creating a chain of evidence for the future investigation she knows Rama will undertake.

सीता अब अदृश्य शक्तियों से गुहार लगाती हैं। भारतीय परंपरा में माना जाता है कि वृक्षों पर वन-देवताओं (यक्ष, गंधर्व आदि) का वास होता है। सीता 'विविध पादपे' (विभिन्न वृक्षों) को संबोधित करती हैं, जिसका अर्थ है कि वे कोई भी अवसर छोड़ना नहीं चाहतीं। 'नमस्करोमि' (मैं नमस्कार करती हूँ) का प्रयोग पुनः उनकी सुसंस्कृत प्रकृति को दर्शाता है। उनका एकमात्र उद्देश्य 'भर्तुः शंसत' (पति को बता दो) है। वे जानती हैं कि राम उन्हें ढूँढेंगे, लेकिन राम को सही दिशा का ज्ञान होना आवश्यक है, इसलिए वे 'डिजिटल फुटप्रिंट' की तरह अपना संदेश छोड़ रही हैं।
