अर्कम् तुंद्याम् शरैः तीक्ष्णैर् विभिंद्याम् हि महीतलम् ।
काम रूपिणम् उन्मत्ते पश्य माम् कामदम् पतिम् ॥ ॥३-४९-४॥
arkam tund yām śaraiḥ tīkṣṇair vibhiṃdyām hi mahītalam । kāma rūpiṇam unmatte paśya mam kāmadam patim ॥ ॥3-49-4॥
Translation
I can pierce the sun; I can split the earth with my sharp arrows. O mad woman! Look at me, the one who can assume any form at will, and the husband who grants all desires.
हिंदी अनुवाद
मैं सूर्य को भेद सकता हूँ (या रोक सकता हूँ) और अपने तीक्ष्ण बाणों से पृथ्वी को विदीर्ण कर सकता हूँ। हे पगली! मुझ कामरूपी (इच्छानुसार रूप धरने वाले) और मनोकामना पूर्ण करने वाले पति को देख।
English Commentary
Continuing his boasts, Ravana claims the power to destroy the celestial (sun) and the terrestrial (earth) spheres with his arrows. He commands Sita to look at him in his true glory. He describes himself as kama rupinam (shape-shifter) and kamadam patim (desire-granting husband). He is essentially saying, "I am a god of destruction and creation; I can break the world, but I can also fulfill your every wish." It is a desperate bid to impress her with sheer potency.

रावण अपने विनाशकारी सामर्थ्य का प्रदर्शन जारी रखता है। सूर्य को भेदना और पृथ्वी को टुकड़े करना उसकी संहारक शक्ति के परिचायक हैं। वह सीता को पुनः 'उन्मत्ते' (पगली) संबोधित करता है और उन्हें 'पश्य' (देख) आदेश देता है। वह स्वयं को 'कामदम् पतिम्' (इच्छा पूरी करने वाला पति) कहता है। उसका तात्पर्य है कि जो व्यक्ति सृष्टि को नष्ट कर सकता है, वही तुम्हारी हर इच्छा भी पूरी कर सकता है। यहाँ भय और प्रलोभन का मिश्रण है।
