अन्तरिक्ष गतम् देवम् गीर्भिर् अग्र्याभिर् ऐडियन् ।
सह संभाषमाणे तु शरभंगेन वासवे ॥ ॥३-५-११॥
antarikṣa gatam devem gīrbhir agryābhir aiḍiyan |
saha saṃbhāṣamāṇe tu śarabhaṃgena vāsave ॥3-5-11॥
Translation
While Vasava (Indra) was conversing with Sarabhanga, they were praising the God situated in the sky with excellent words and songs.
हिंदी अनुवाद
जब वासव (इन्द्र) शरभंग मुनि के साथ वार्तालाप कर रहे थे, तब (गन्धर्व आदि) आकाश में स्थित उस देवता की श्रेष्ठ वाणियों द्वारा स्तुति कर रहे थे।
English Commentary
The verse captures simultaneous actions: Indra conversing with the sage Sarabhanga while being eulogized by his retinue. The term 'Vasava' refers to Indra as the chief of the Vasus. The continuous praise (aiḍiyan) highlights that divine status requires constant affirmation. Rama remains an observer here, witnessing the interaction between the highest celestial power and the highest human spiritual power (the sage).

'वासव' इन्द्र का ही एक नाम है (वसुओं के ईश)। यहाँ एक महत्वपूर्ण दृश्य है: इन्द्र शरभंग से बात कर रहे हैं, और उसी समय उनकी स्तुति गान ('ऐडियन्') चल रहा है। यह इन्द्र की व्यस्तता और महत्व को दर्शाता है। राम यह सब दूर से देख रहे हैं, जो आगामी सर्गों में राम और शरभंग के मिलन की पृष्ठभूमि तैयार करता है।
