अर्चिष्मन्तम् श्रिया जुष्टम् अद्भुतम् पश्य लक्ष्मण ।
प्रतपन्तम् इव आदित्यम् अन्तरिक्ष गतम् रथम् ॥ ॥३-५-१३॥
arciṣmantam śriyā juṣṭam adbhutam paśya lakṣmaṇa । pratapantam iva ādityam antarikṣa gatam ratham ॥ ॥3-5-13॥
Translation
O Lakshmana, behold that wondrous chariot hovering in the sky, possessed of radiance, endowed with glory, and blazing like the sun.

हे लक्ष्मण! आकाश में स्थित, शोभा से युक्त, सूर्य के समान तपते हुए उस अद्भुत और किरण-मंडित रथ को देखो।
English Commentary
This verse provides a vivid visual description of Indra's chariot. The descriptor antarikṣa gatam (gone into the intermediate space/sky) indicates that the chariot is hovering and not touching the ground, a classic mark of celestial vehicles (vimanas) in Vedic literature. The comparison to the blazing sun (pratapantam iva adityam) emphasizes the overwhelming brilliance and energy radiating from it, suggesting that its material is not earthly wood or metal but condensed light and energy. Shriya jushtam implies it is endowed with Sri (divine glory/prosperity), marking it as the seat of the King of Gods. Rama draws Lakshmana's attention to these details to validate the divine identity of the visitor.
