न शक्तः त्वम् बलात् हर्तुम् वैदेहीम् मम पश्यतः ।
हेतुभिः न्याय संयुक्तैः ध्रुवाम् वेद श्रुतीम् इव ॥३-५०-२२॥
na śaktaḥ tvam balāt hartum vaidehīm mama paśyataḥ |
hetubhiḥ nyāya saṃyuktaiḥ dhruvām veda śrutīm iva ॥3-50-22॥
Translation
You are not capable of forcibly taking Vaidehi while I am watching, just as the eternal Vedic Shruti cannot be distorted by arguments based on logic.
हिंदी अनुवाद
मेरे देखते हुए तुम सीता का बलपूर्वक हरण करने में उसी प्रकार समर्थ नहीं हो सकते, जैसे न्याय (तर्क) से युक्त हेतुओं (कुतर्कों) द्वारा अटल वेद-श्रुति को नष्ट नहीं किया जा सकता।
English Commentary
Jatayu employs a profound simile drawn from Mimamsa philosophy. He compares Sita to the immutable 'Veda Shruti' (canonical scriptures) and Ravana’s attempt to abduct her to the attempts of logicians who try to subvert the Vedas using dry reasoning ('hetu' or dialectics). Just as secular logic cannot dismantle the eternal truth of the Vedas, Jatayu asserts that Ravana’s brute force cannot detach Sita from Rama while he stands guard. This elevates Sita from a mere woman to the embodiment of sacred truth, and frames the battle not just as physical combat, but as a defense of the sacred against the profane.

यह एक अत्यंत महत्वपूर्ण दार्शनिक उपमा है। जटायु सीता की तुलना 'वेद श्रुति' (वेदों के अपौरुषेय ज्ञान) से करते हैं और रावण की तुलना उन नास्तिकों या तार्किकों से करते हैं जो अपने कुतर्कों (हेतुभिः) से वेद के सत्य को झुठलाना चाहते हैं। जैसे तर्क-वितर्क से सत्य नहीं बदलता, वैसे ही रावण के बल-प्रयोग से सीता का सतीत्व और राम के प्रति उनका समर्पण नहीं बदला जा सकता। जब तक जटayu जीवित हैं (जैसे विद्वान वेदों की रक्षा करते हैं), रावण सीता को नहीं ले जा सकता। यह सीता की पवित्रता और जटायु की निष्ठा का प्रमाण है।
