असकृत् संयुगे येन निहता दैत्य दानवाः ।
न चिरात् चीर वासाः त्वाम् रामो युधि वधिष्यति ॥३-५०-२४॥
asakṛt saṃyuge yena nihatā daitya dānavāḥ |
na cirāt cīra vāsāḥ tvām rāmo yudhi vadhiṣyati ॥3-50-24॥
Translation
Rama, who has repeatedly slain Daityas and Danavas in battle, though clad in bark garments, will soon kill you in combat.
हिंदी अनुवाद
जिन्होंने युद्ध में अनेकों बार दैत्यों और दानवों का संहार किया है, वे चीर-वस्त्र (वल्कल) धारण करने वाले राम शीघ्र ही युद्ध में तुम्हारा वध करेंगे।
English Commentary
Jatayu juxtaposes Rama's current appearance with his inherent power. He describes Rama as 'cīra vāsāḥ' (clad in bark/ascetic robes), acknowledging his forest-exile status, but immediately counters this image by recalling Rama's history of slaughtering powerful Daityas and Danavas. The message is clear: Do not mistake the ascetic attire for weakness. The warrior spirit within Rama remains undiminished. Jatayu prophesies with absolute certainty that this ascetic-king will be the agent of Ravana's death, and that this retribution will arrive 'na cirāt' (not long from now).

जटायु यहाँ श्रीराम के स्वरूप और शक्ति का वर्णन करते हैं। 'चीर वासाः' (वल्कल वस्त्र पहनने वाले) कहकर वे संकेत करते हैं कि भले ही राम अभी तपस्वी के वेश में हैं, पर वे वही महाशक्तिशाली योद्धा हैं जिन्होंने अतीत में दैत्यों और दानवों का नाश किया है। रावण को तपस्वी वेश देखकर राम को कमजोर समझने की भूल नहीं करनी चाहिए। जटायु भविष्यवाणी करते हैं कि रावण का वध राम के हाथों निश्चित है और वह समय दूर नहीं ('न चिरात्') है। यह जटायु का राम के प्रति अटूट विश्वास दर्शाता है।
