Jatayu delineates the character of Rama to highlight the injustice of Ravana's actions. Rama is described as "Lokānām hite yukto" (engaged in the welfare of the world). This contrasts sharply with Ravana, who is often described as the tormentor of the worlds. Jatayu implies that attacking someone who is a universal benefactor is a crime against humanity itself. The description of Sita as "Dharma-patni" (lawful wife participating in religious duties) adds weight to the sin. She is not merely a woman or a conquest; she is the partner in Rama’s spiritual and royal duties. Calling her "Yaśasvinī" (illustrious/glorious) emphasizes her purity and high status. Jatayu is stressing that Ravana is violating the sanctity of a marriage held sacred by the entire world, and stealing from the "Loka Natha" (Lord of the World) is an act of suicidal foolishness.
