रक्षणीया विशेषेण राज दारा महाबलः ।
निवर्तय गतिम् नीचाम् पर दार अभिमर्शनात् ॥ ॥३-५०-७॥
Rakṣaṇīyā viśeṣeṇa rāja dārā mahābalaḥ । Nivartaya gatim nīcām para dāra abhimarśanāt ॥ ॥3-50-7॥
Translation
O Mighty One! The wives of kings are to be protected specifically. Turn away your course from this base path of touching another's wife.

हे महाबली! राजाओं की पत्नियों की विशेष रूप से रक्षा की जानी चाहिए। परायी स्त्री के स्पर्श से उत्पन्न होने वाली इस नीच बुद्धि (या गति) से स्वयं को निवृत्त करो (हटा लो)।
English Commentary
Jatayu invokes the code of conduct among royalty. "Rakṣaṇīyā viśeṣeṇa" implies a special imperative to protect royal consorts. In the diplomatic structure of the time, violating a royal household was not just a crime of passion but a geopolitical act of war and a violation of sovereignty. By labeling the act "Nīcām gatim" (base or low path), Jatayu contrasts Ravana’s physical might ("Mahābala") with his moral smallness. He argues that true strength lies in self-control, not in overpowering a defenseless woman. The imperative "Nivartaya" (turn back/desist) is a direct command from the elder bird. He is advising Ravana to withdraw from this trajectory which leads only to infamy. It frames the abduction not as a victory, but as a degradation of Ravana’s own status.

जटायु यहाँ 'परस्पर सम्मान' के सिद्धांत (Reciprocity) की बात कर रहे हैं। राज परिवारों के बीच एक अलिखित समझौता होता है कि वे एक-दूसरे के अंतःपुर (रानियों) की मर्यादा का सम्मान करेंगे। 'रक्षणीया विशेषेण'—अर्थात सामान्य स्त्रियों की रक्षा तो आवश्यक है ही, किन्तु राज-कुल की स्त्रियों की रक्षा और अधिक महत्वपूर्ण है क्योंकि वे राज्य की प्रतिष्ठा होती हैं। जटायु रावण के कार्य को 'नीचाम् गतिम्' (नीच गति या अधम रास्ता) कहते हैं। यह रावण जैसे 'महाबलः' (शक्तिशाली योद्धा) के लिए अपमानजनक है। वीरता युद्ध में दिखाई जाती है, स्त्री के अपहरण में नहीं। जटायु का निर्देश स्पष्ट है—'निवर्तय' (लौट जाओ, रुक जाओ)। यह एक मित्रवत चेतावनी भी है कि अभी भी समय है, इस विनाशकारी रास्ते से वापस मुड़ जाओ।
